The KB4girls chapters, spearheaded by passionate local kiteboarding women, are the building stones of the worldwide female network that furthers the influence of females in the sport of kiteboarding and reaches out to girls and women all around the globe. If it is by kiteboarding, other sports and no-wind activities, or just social get-togethers, the KB4girls local Chapters follow one and the same calling: giving females the attention and support they deserve! In detail the Objectives of the KB4girls Chapter program are, to: • Provide a supportive environment for female kiters to help them leave their fears and hesitations behind • Create a worldwide network for women to connect to at home and abroad • Encourage girls and women to get into the sport • Motivate more female riders to compete in national and international competitions by encouraging the spirit of friendly competition and pushing one’s personal limits
All the Chapter programs are headed by one (or more) female KB4girls Ambassadors (see profiles here) who have volunteered their time to act as the local leader and contact person for all female kiters in her area. The Chapter Ambassador is committed to: • Organizing at least one Chapter activity per month during the kiting season (all activities are free to attend) • Organizing at least one “Learn to Fly a Kite” event per year for beginners • Updating the Chapter blog for her area located on the KB4girls.org website, so any female interested in kiting in this area can see what is going on and connect with the Ambassador directly • Following the KB4girls safety guidelines and provide a completed risk assessment form for each “event site” • Behaving as a mentor and leader for all female kiters in her community by promoting safe kiting and encouraging all participants to have third party public liability and personal medical insurance. • Encouraging females to improve their kiting and even get to a competitive level • Having FUN with the girls kiting!!
• Kite get-togethers and female kite sessions with Ambassadors and guest coaches leading the activities • Planned “downwinders” (safety required) • Specified clinic sessions: old school, wake style, slider, waves, etc. • Women-only fun competitions (in cooperation with local or national associations or independently organized) • “Learn to Fly a Kite” days for girls and women • Fun kiting trip - weekend away with the girls • BBQ's/movie nights for no-wind seasons • SUP tour, bike tour or other sports adventures for no-wind days • Whatever else your community can dream up or would like!
