Ola! This is Genevieve from Extreme Hotel.

We are proud to announce that we are hosting the next Cabarete KB4 Girls on April 14th, 2012. Located on the north east cost of the Dominican Republic, we are anticipating some good wind and rockin’ weather on Kite Beach. With the help of Richard from GoKite, our ladies of all skill levels will learn something new and fell empowered! Starting at 1:00pm, we encourage everyone to bring their gear if they have it.
Afterwards, all the chicas can exchange stories while busting a move in Zumba, learning locks in Jiu Jitsu self-defence class or while chillen’ in yoga. With the help of the local community businesses, locals and travelers will be able to have a rewarding day where new friends will surely be made.
If you can’t make it during the day, everyone is welcome to our garden bonfire. Nestled betwee n Passion fruit vines and banana trees, we hope that everyone enjoys Extreme’s KB4 Girls Chapter event :)

After almost three straight weeks of perfect wind in Cabarete mother nature played a little trick on our KB4girls event, and once again we had a windless KB4girls.

Regardless, over forty incredible women and girls convened once again at the Laurel Eastman Kiteboarding School (LEK) to celebrate friendship, fun, and learning.

Beginners learned set up, the safety actions, and the first steps to kite flying.

Advanced girls were treated to a clinic with three celebrity kitesurfing coaches: Jose Luengo, Ben Meyer, and Cameron Dietrich.

And most of all, Peter Pan had a great day in the sun!

Thank you to all the girls who came, to the volunteers, and the coaches.

The second event of the KB4Girls Cabarete Chapter was a huge success this February 11th. More than 30 girls joined the free event at Dare2fly kiteboarding school and learnt some new skills and tricks as well as making some new friends.

IKO certified kite instructors Maria Mikarova from dare2fly along with future champion Katie Bowcutt taught kite flying, safety and lanching/landing kites. Nathalie Pouliot certified instructor from Montreal taught riding skills and body position on the board.

Professional kiter, certified instructor and Dare2fly's icon, Audrey Meyer along with Laila Puehringer, professional kiter explained how to nails tricks such as backrolls, riding blind, surface passes etc.

Even though we couldn't get on the water because of a lack of wind on the day, everyone had a huge blast, learnt something new and was stoked to get a nice goodie bag as a souvenir of the day.

The afternoon kept rocking with some paddle board relay games on the ocean to cool everyone off.

After this everyone enjoyed some KB4Girls cocktails kindly offered by Boris from the dare2fly restaurant while listening to some amazing tunes from DJ Daniel Willie.

We closed the day at voyvoy with another voyvoy special cocktail drink and dancing to DJ Mr Twist'smixes this time. The girls had the chance to win some cool prizes such as a free sugaring from Andari SPA, a free zumba lesson with Alexandra Wood, and a free Surf Fit workout with Audrey Meyer at the Millennium Wellness Boutique.

The day was an out-standing success with so much good energy, and all the girls can't wait for the next KB4Girls event which will take place every second Saturday of the month in Cabarete.

Mark your calendars for Saturday the 11th of Feb where the second KB4girls in Cabarete will take place, this time on Kite Beach at the Dare2Fly kiteboarding school - hosted by legendary Cabarete athlete Audrey Meyer.  It is going to be fantastic, so get ready for a really good time with the girls!

KB4girls Cabarete chapter events will be hosted every second Saturday of the month during 2012.

Let's get together and have fun with the girls kiting!!

This is a FREE event open to ALL levels - from the "first-timer" who would like to learn more about kiting to aspiring pro riders wanting to improve their tricks for competition.

There are 3 group levels for our FREE clinics!

1.  Advanced (jumping and above) with former Freestyle World Champion Ania Grzelinska!! (and Laurel Eastman)

2.  Intermediate (kite flying to jumping)

3.  Total Beginner (if you are thinking of trying it, you can learn to fly the kite)

The event schedule is:

1:30pm - Registration in front of LEK and gear-rigging

2pm - FREE clinic with LEK coaches for the 3 levels

3pm - Free-riding in pairs of girls (focused on improving your level)

4:30pm - Debrief & De-rigging

5pm - KB4girls Cocktail Party poolside at the Millenium Resort & Spa with a free drink for all the girls (taste the new KB4girls Cabarete signature cocktail "Flying Chica" invented by LEK's own mixologist, Meghan!)

There will also be a special drinks and tapas menu at the party in case you want to eat or drink more!  Thanks to Aqua restaurant...

You can join all components of this awesome day, or just do your best to make it out to the clinics, kiting, or just the cocktail party!  The idea is to have fun together in our Cabarete female kiting community, improve our skills in kiting and make the Cabarete women's kite community stronger!
